What Is the Mother? And what is asking to be born through Us?
The metamorphosis we are living through…
What is the Mother? Not as an idea, a symbol, or a concept to be understood, but as a living presence. The living being that makes up all that exists, and of which we are a part, as well as in relationship with. The Mother, as I have come to know Her, is the movement of the Divine. The current of evolution. The sacred moving into new waves of creation. The intelligence and heart of life, continuously bringing forth what has not yet been born. She is not somewhere else, separate from the world or from us. She is the life moving through all things. The source from which we emerge, the ground that holds us, and the mystery into which everything eventually returns.
My understanding of the Mother has been shaped by the spiritual lineage of the Mother of Pondicherry, Sri Aurobindo, Sri Atmananda, and Sat Shree. Through these teachings, and through my own experience and the spaces I have created for others to explore this living presence, something has gradually become more intimate and real. I experience the Mother as a presence that holds the unfolding of my life. Something deeper than the fears, uncertainties, and changes that move through me. Something that remains even as the structures through which I have understood myself begin to dissolve. She does not necessarily make the path clear. But there is something I can lean into, give myself to, something I can listen for, even when I do not know where life is taking me. And increasingly, I feel that this listening is at the heart of the work I am here to do.
The World Mother Initiative
As I bring the World Mother Initiative into form, I find myself following breadcrumbs, listening deeply, and making space for something I cannot entirely know yet. I have ideas about how my life might unfold. I have wishes, hopes, and visions of what I would like to create. But the deeper I enter this process, the more I find myself brought to my knees before the intelligence that is moving through it.
What does life want? What does existence want? What does creation want for life on Earth?
These questions reach into places where my own answers fall away. They ask me to loosen my grip on what I think should happen, to listen beyond my preferences, and to become available to something I may not yet have the capacity to imagine. For me the World Mother Initiative is ultimately about serving the sacred and make ourselves available for the next expression of life. We are here to participate in the unfolding of life, to serve something greater than ourselves, and to allow the sacred to find its particular expression through each of us - the truest potential of our incarnation.
This is intimately connected to the metamorphosis our world is moving through. The transformation of the whole is happening through each of us. The patterns that live within us are not separate from the patterns that shape our collective reality. The fears we have not met, the beliefs we have inherited, the ways we protect ourselves, seek control, or hold on to identities that once helped us survive. These shape not only our individual lives, but also the world we create together. What is out of alignment in the world is also reflected within us. And what is asking to transform in us is connected to the wider transformation of which we are a part. To participate in the metamorphosis of the world is not simply to imagine a different future. It is to become willing to meet what is here now, including the parts of ourselves and our world that we might rather not see. It is to allow what has become rigid to soften, what has been hidden to come into the light, and what is no longer serving life to lose its hold on us.
As we become more available to the intelligence of life, as we allow what is no longer aligned to fall away, we make space for something new to emerge, both within ourselves and in the world we are creating together. Each of us carries a particular expression of the sacred, a unique way in which the intelligence of creation can move through us and contribute to the becoming of the whole.
The falling apart
This is not always a gentle process. To listen to life is also to feel the pain of what is happening in the world. To allow the grief of all that is wounded, broken, and out of harmony. To experience the unworkability. It is to allow the heartbreak and, when possible, welcome the falling apart. Not because suffering is something to celebrate, or because everything that breaks must necessarily be good. But because there are things we have built, individually and collectively, that may no longer be able to carry life forward. Ways of living, seeing, relating, and organising ourselves that have become separated from the very life that sustains us.
I feel this happening in my own life as I try to serve the emergence of the World Mother Initiative. The more I listen, the more I am asked to question my own ideas about how things should unfold. To meet my fears. To release my grip on the familiar. To allow the process to change me, rather than only asking how I can bring my vision into the world.
What happens when I stop trying to hold everything together? What happens when I allow what is no longer aligned with my truest longing for life to fall away? What will be left of me? What will be left of the world? What lasts?
We are not here to force the emergence of a new world according to our own ideas, but to become available to the intelligence of life as it moves through us. To participate consciously in the transformation, beginning with the places where that transformation is asking to happen within ourselves.
The Earth continues to breathe. Seeds break open in the darkness. Rivers find their way to the sea. New life emerges from what has died. Creation continues its movement, beyond the names we give it and the forms through which we try to understand it. Something continues to exist, to hold it all, something lasts.
An invitation to make ourselves available to the sacred
Perhaps you feel it, too: a longing to give yourself more fully to the sacred, to align your life with the deeper current of evolution, and to discover what this life is truly here to serve. Perhaps you sense that you are being called beyond the familiar ways of understanding yourself and your place in the world. That something wants to unfold through you, something that asks for your willingness, your presence, and your participation.
My 1:1 Mentoring Program offers a space to listen into this calling, to meet what is asking to transform, and to explore how you might more fully embody the particular expression of the sacred that is seeking to live through you.
If you feel this longing, you are warmly invited to reach out for a free introductory call. A space for us to meet, listen, and explore whether this journey is right for you. And if you sense someone close to you longing for this as well, please share this page with them.
